Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing Information

Our SIMPLE and EFFECTIVE testing method

We offer the NAA test for both gonorrhea and chlamydia, which is the best way to test for them, and requires only a small portion of urine. This will be collected by a lab technician at your local testing center, and will take only a small amount of time. We recommend you avoid urinating for at least one hour before arriving at the testing center. No fasting is required.

The best time to be tested

Incubation period for theses bacterias varies from person to person, so the testing window is not always 100% accurate. However, we recommend that you wait at least 2-6 days following unprotected sex to get tested. If the disease is fully developed, it is easier to detect and diagnose. Once you receive treatment, wait 2 weeks, then get re-tested to make sure the treatment is successful.

Interpreting your test results

The test results will show up as either positive or negative. A negative result means you are not infected, while a positive result means the bacteria was detected in your urine. An initial negative result, if not testing at the right time, could prove to be a false result. If you have symptoms after a negative test, we recommend you get re-tested.

Treatment of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea

Both diseases can be treated and cured with the use of certain antibiotics. If you receive a positive test result, we recommend you take advantage of a free phone consultation with one of our doctors to provide information about possible treatments available to you.

You should get tested if...

If you are sexually active, you are susceptible to these diseases, especially if you regularly have different partners. In this case, we recommend you tested annually for all STDs. When untreated, you can experience sores, rashes, discharge, bleeding, itching, painful bowel movements, and a burning sensation during urination. If left untreated, women may experience pelvic inflammatory disease, which can lead to infertility and ectopic pregnancy. Untreated men may develop epididymitis, which causes pain in the tubes attached to your testicles.

Don't make the mistake of waiting to get tested for Chlamydia & Gonorrhea.

Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Testing - Don't Wait.

There are several types of STDs, and various ways to contract and treat them. Some of these STDS are related and can co-exist with one another. Two of these are chlamydia and gonorrhea. If you have one of them, you are at a higher risk for getting the other.

By taking this combined test, you can get tested for both diseases with one urine sample. Once you get your diagnosis, you can accurately get the treatment you need. We recommend you get tested somewhere between 2-5 days after possible exposure.

If you want to a full run up, we recommend our 10-Test Panel, which tests you for all the most common STDs. These include both types of herpes, all three types of hepatitis, HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis. Getting tested for all these diseases at once can bring great peace of mind.

The sooner you get tested, the sooner you can start treatment. Don't wait!
